Broos

Okay, about "Broos".  Yesterday, we all went to Nairobi together.  BJ had found a lead on a dog that a family is trying to find a good home for.   We've been praying for a dog.  We thought about getting a Shepherd or a Boerbull because they are known to be good dogs, but they are also very expensive.  So we've just been waiting and praying for God to lead us to the dog that He wants us to have.  We did not tell Seth why we were going as a family to Nairobi just in case it didn't work out.  However, BJ and I were very impressed with this dog, Bruce.

He is just a mutt, but we think he may have some Lab in him.  He is 2-3 years old, past the hyper, jumpy, licky stage--a plus in my book!  He is very good with children.  It was even obvious that he was gentle with Brina.  And he is house-broken and sleeps inside at night--something I want when BJ is away.

Seth played with him, loved on him, gave him sugars, and petted him for two hours while we watched the dog and talked with the family.  You should've seen Seth's eyes light up when we asked him if he would like to have Bruce for his very own!  So Bruce is coming home on Monday.  We are very excited to finally be getting a dog.

* Tonight I will make jambalaya with baked beans.  The jambalaya is from a box (from Louisiana--a taste of home!), so it makes an easy meal before BJ's sign language class tonight.
